The Weekend Spirit

Weekends.
Two and the half days we squeeze, pack, stretch and fleece to its limits.
To do things we are denied of during weekdays.

We want to stay in AND go out.
To dress down AND dress up
To eat at home AND eat out
To catch up with friends AND catch up with sleep

No matter how draining work has been, we refuse to fritter Friday nights away by going home. Even if it means yawning endlessly and zonkin out during the meet-ups.

No matter how much we need rest, we ambitiously squeeze back to back appointments to meet friends cum shop cum feast cum gym cum catch up- all at once on Saturdays.
Even if gym's forever put off last minute, shopping's a drag because of weary bodies and legs and conversations are incoherent because the minds are switched off

No matter how we ought to settle down, sleep early to gear up for yet another week, we cannot sleep on Sunday nights. Even if it means a painful and difficult Monday ahead fighting lack of sleep.

We refuse to waste a single moment, a minute of the precious two and the half days.
We make up for the deprivation of weekdays with a fiery vengeance.
Rigour, energy, enthusiasm and zest we can never garner during weekdays spring forth in abundance.

This, is the indomitable spirit of the weekend.

Haha~ This is how true! I feel that my weekends so far have been so action-packed! First was that Malacca thingy, then chalet, then now Bangkok.. Think we are really utilizing our 2.5 days to its max! :p

So enjoy ur weekend!

But how can we so both efficiently.. we always have to compromise on either one.. going out to have fun or resting well..

I always go out and make the most out of my time, but only to go home tired.. exhuasted from well spent outings.. my body collapsing for watever is left..

Windfall woman: It's gd u can relax! I so understand the guilt part, i feel it too!

Sunflower: Tt's happening. I dun think i'm as packed as you.Ha. U enjoy ur wkend too! Have fun and see u when u r back.

Maddy: I guess we learn along e way how to juggle the two needs. And at the end of the day, as long as u think it's a worthwhile cause,it's worth it no matter how tired u may feel at the end of e day:)

wah, glad to see u back with blogging. :) sorry haf missed reading your blog in a while... and i must say, you seem to have gained some new insights this time round. and it's as if you are shaper in the way you write. :)

anyway, weekends always seem so short. at the blink of an eye, they are over. cherish your weekend. take time to recharge and rejuvenate.

and if there's one thing i learnt this weekend (from a catch-up session with an old fren) it is that God provides in His time and in His way :)

S baby: Finally i've earned a comment fr u! And yeah, catchin up with old frens is a wonderful way to spend e wkend isn't it?

And wat u said reminds me of this hymn-

"In His time,in His time
He makes all things beautiful, in His time.
Lord, please show me everyday
As You’re teaching me Your way
That You do just wat You say in Your time"

Indeed, He would be there to show us the way. Everytime.
